‘Black Bounty’

Matthieu Briand’s Black Bounty (2015) sits in the window of our office in North Fitzroy. Marseille-born, Melbourne-based artist Briand’s extraordinary sculpture is a replica of the HMS Bounty, whose journey from England to Tahiti was foiled by the infamous mutiny led by Fletcher Christian in 1789.
