With an opportunity to create a new community space, the Nambour Skate and Youth Space draws inspiration from the historical industries and places which put Nambour on the map, such as The Sugar Mill and Nambour Rail Station.
The space is designed to invite people from the four corners of the site, and promotes interaction, with opportunity to watch or engage. The skate plaza caters for all abilities, and follows the site’s natural grades, protecting the adjacent drainage reserve and the significant vegetation.
With the addition of digital projection, the space is animated in the evenings, improving the security and extending the available hours of use. With areas for shade, art display and performance, the space caters for numerous activities in addition to skate and BMX.
